Douglas Balkin is a native of Geneseo, NY and is currently living in Brooklyn pursuing a career in operatic performance. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conseravtory and just recently finished his Masters in Music from the University of Illinois. He has appeared as Florian in Princess Ida, King Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Mr. Gobineau in The Medium, and Snug in A Midsummer Nights Dream. Douglas recently returned from Austria where he performed the role of the Count in Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro. He has also sung as a concert soloist, having performed the role of Ponitius Pilate in Bachs St. John Passion with the SUNY Geneseo Orchestra.
